What is a Mala?
Mala or Japa Mala is the Sanskirt word more commonly known as “rosary” or “prayer beads” in English. The mala is used in both Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism for counting mantras, chants or prayers. Using a mala aids one to think about the meaning of the mantra as it is chanted without having to concentrate on counting the repetitions.
Howlite is a calming stone that teaches patience and helps eliminate anger, pain and stress. Also believed to prepare the mind to receive wisdom and insight.
Rhudraksha seeds are known to promote inner peace, knowledge, power and enlightenment and represent the meditative powers of Shiva to focus the mind and remove the demons of desire, lust and attachment.
Silver is known to soothing and cleansing properties, including the ability to attract, store and enhance gemstone energy.
Ohm pronounced as ‘ahh-ohhhh-mmm’, is commonly known as a sacred sound practice in the recitation of mantras to align and harmonise the body, mind and soul.
